Stone Planning Hired to Estimate Economic Impacts of Hartford’s XL Center

Stone Planning has been hired to estimate the economic and fiscal impacts of the XL Center, which is the home of the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack and University of Connecticut hockey, and the part-time home of UCONN’s men’s and women’s basketball programs. The facility’s owner, the Capital Region Development Authority, is contemplating a $100-million renovation that would include improvements such as premium and other group seating areas, additional restrooms and concessions, building systems/infrastructure, and others. The estimates of past and future economic and fiscal impacts (and the incremental impacts resulting from renovations) will assist in the CRDA and state’s analysis of investing in the proposed improvements.
